Operation 2000 Cherry Trees kept planting through October, with new trees going into the ground in Miamisburg and Sidney late in the month.

On October 24, volunteers planted 25 cherry trees at Sycamore Trail Park, and the City of Miamisburg added 30 more, bringing the day’s total to 55. Volunteers planted every one of them. Miamisburg City Manager Chris Fine joined the crew.

Two days later, on October 26, five trees were planted at the city park in Sidney (shown below). Mayor Mike Barhorst, City Manager Jon Crusey and several other city officials attended, along with Mr. Hajime Kishimori, Consul-General of Japan in Detroit.
